This practical shelter from TFA protects temperature or humidity sensors from the rain and reduces the effects of solar heating. Due to the open construction of the protective cover, the air can circulate freely inside and you get improved readings even in direct sunlight.

In addition, the sensor is protected against rain and can be easily placed anywhere outside often extending the life of the sensor inside. Suitable for a variety of sensors including TFA, Ecowitt, GARNI, Davis, Oregon Scientific and Netamo.

The protective casing is also ideal for transmitters with a cabled sensor, as a cable opening is also part of the design.

We also recommend that when mounting the sensor inside that it is slightly raised above the base to allow air to circulate underneath as many sensors have base ventilation holes.

Looks workmanlike but a bit pricy!

I got this at a slight discount with a WN31 for greenhouse use. It appears to be sturdy and well made and we'll see how it stands up to the environment there.

Instructions say put it in the shade but that impossible but I don't need an exact temperature there.

The price seems very high for what it is however, hence only 4 stars

Weather shelter

This is a good product - well made and sensor fits well inside. The only thing that customers need to be aware of is that that the shelter must not have any sunlight falling on it at all - else the temperature goes up a lot. This is despite the sensor being free of sunlight - but sun falling on the shelter is enough to make the temperature go up for the sensor leading to inaccurate readings
